I was brought up with the sea and inevitably I fell in love with it. It is hard not to have a connection to the thing that surrounds and quite often defines a population, such as the Cornish. It comes with an immense sense of pride and respect. It is hard to meet a Cornishmen who doesn’t have a deep inherit respect and love for the ocean
Mordon, Cornish for sea wave. This photographic project aims to explore the raw energy and beauty of the Cornish coastline, blurring the lines between land and sea, and utilising the natural light and beauty of the coast.
In this work I aim to encapsulate my lifelong love of the sea, in a way that transcends the boundaries of photography, and hopefully prompting people to ask the question 'is that a painting?'. I want to place the viewer into the scene, allowing them to experience the Cornish coastline in an artistic manner, and allow them to feel the power of the ocean for themselves.
